Pool Questions
Why is my pool cloudy?
This is potentially a chemically related problem; however, most of the time, it's a filter problem.
How long should I run my pump?
For full benefit, you should run your pump for 24 hours. At minimum, run your pump for 8 to 12 hours every day. The filter keeps your pool clean, so the more
you run it, the better.
Why does my pool turn green after it rains?
Acid rain will throw off the pH and alkalinity of your pool, and cause the chlorine to become ineffective. Have your pool water tested and adjust the
alkalinity as needed. You should also shock your pool.
How often should I shock my pool?
You should shock your pool weekly to destroy chloramines and bacteria chains.
What chemicals can you recommend for my pool?
Please check out our chemicals page to learn more about our most popular pool care programs.
Do you carry Baquacil?
Yes.
What is the best time to put liquid chlorine in my pool?
Always put liquid chlorine in your pool after the sun goes down so the sun won't remove the chlorine from the water.
How often should I change the sand in my filter?
Change sand every 3 to 5 years. If you have clarity problems, changing the sand will solve them.
What is floc?
Floc restores water sparkle by floccing (sinking to the bottom) suspended particles that may cause cloudy or dull water. Power-Floc works overnight
settling dead algae and suspended particles to the bottom of the pool so they can be vacuumed out to waste and increase your filtration rate to 10 to 15
microns.
Spa Questions
Are PDC spas full foam?
No. PDC spas are lucite acrylic enamel backed by 3 layers of hand-rolled fiberglass.
How many filters should my spa have?
Your spa needs only one positive pressure filter for filtration. These are better because they will filter your water faster: 325 gallons in 2 to 3 hours.
Other filters take as many as 8 to 10 hours.
How much will a spa cost to run and maintain?
Only $1 to $2 per day, depending on how often you use your spa.
How much will chemicals cost for one year of spa usage?
Chemical cost may vary, depending on bather load and spa size. On average, plan to spend about $300 per year on chemicals.
